Tennille was born and raised in Wauseon, Ohio. Upon her graduation from Wauseon High School in 1995 she attended the University of Toledo graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2005, Tennille graduated from University of Toledo College of Law. Thereafter, Tennille opened her own practice in downtown Toledo focusing in family law and criminal defense.

In 2007 she joined Plassman, Rupp, Short & Hagans as an associate. She continues her focus in family law, including divorces, dissolutions, custody issues, delinquency, child support, and cases that require Job & Family Service involvement. She has also retained her focus in criminal defense, but has since expanded her practice to include bankruptcy representation.

Tennille is a founding member of the Northwest Ohio Family Law Association which provides alternatives to litigation in divorce and custody proceedings. She is a certified mediator and has presented for the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts on representing delinquent children who also have dependency issues. Additionally, Tennille often serves as a Guardian ad litem for children in custody disputes.
