Attorney Sharon Comet-Epstein focuses her legal practice on all aspects of domestic relations and family law including divorce, dissolution, spousal and/or child support, custody, visitation, property division, post-decree matters, prenuptial agreements, paternity, and litigation/trial. In addition to being a strong advocate for her clients, Sharon is also a trained and experienced mediator. As an attorney, Sharon?s goal is to help her clients get the best results they can and move on with their lives in emotionally and financially the best ways possible, --especially if children are involved.
Whether she is retained as an attorney-advocate for one party or as a neutral mediator assisting both parties, her expertise in communications and negotiation proves invaluable in effectively handling the psychological, social and financial aspects of domestic relations matters. This expertise helps her to facilitate satisfying, creative, cost-efficient resolutions to even the most complex matters. If necessary, Sharon refers clients to other professionals--child psychologists, individual/family therapists, career counselors, financial planners, accountants, business evaluators and real estate appraisers and agents.
As a second career attorney, Sharon has a rich and varied background including MS and PhD degrees from Case Western Reserve University in programs emphasizing communications, organizational behavior and negotiations. Sharon graduated law school from Case in 1992, where she was an adjunct professor for over 13 years, teaching attorney-client communications, interviewing, counseling, negotiating, and oral persuasion skills. She also is a frequent speaker at professional and community sponsored programs. A strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution techniques, Sharon is on the Board of Directors of the Center for Principled Family Advocacy and a member of the Cleveland Collaborative Practice Group, Mediation Practice Group and Principled Negotiation Practice Group. She also is a member of the Cleveland Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
