Ms.
Wirtz was born in Tipton, Indiana and grew up in the Toledo Ohio area. She
graduated with honors from the University of Toledo 1989 with a Bachelor Degree
in Education and also graduated in 1992 from Cleveland Marshall College of Law.
She was admitted to the Ohio Supreme Court in November 1992. Ms. Wirtz has
practiced in Lucas, Stark, Summit, Lorain and Cuyahoga County Family Courts. She
is well versed in all areas of family law in both the Domestic and Juvenile
Courts.
Ms. Wirtz was also a assistant Stark County Public Defender from 1993 to 1995,
where she was assigned to the juvenile court system to represent juvenile
delinquents and parents of dependent, neglected, and abused children. She helped
design and create the attorney guardian ad litem training program.
She owned a
practice located in Lorain County from January 1995 to June 2000. During that
time, Ms. Wirtz concentrated in family law issues and criminal law issues. She
was counsel in a State of Ohio v. Cynthia Stewart, a first amendment case that
was highly publicized in the United States and
Europe. Ms. Wirtz continued to serve the needs of underprivileged children by
doing court appointed juvenile court cases and also served as a guardian
ad litem in both juvenile and domestic relations cases.
From June of 2000 to December of 2003 she was a member of a large law firm in
Lorain County where Ms. Wirtz began the family law department. During this time
she focused on the practice of Family Law in Lorain County and conducted many
trials and hearings in divorce, custody, child support and post decree cases.
Beginning January 2004 to current, Ms. Wirtz opened her practice with Skirbunt &
Skirbunt as of counsel. Her practice differs from most domestic relations
practices because she delivers superior customer service and has an excellent
staff to assist her in delivering this service. Being a child of divorced
parents, she has an insight to divorce that many attorneys lack and understand
how stressful this process is for the entire family. Her clients are
consistently pleased because of the prompt return of phone calls and consistent
communications regarding the status of their case. The advantage of utilizing
the center is
that the clients get to participate in the decisions affecting not only their
lives, but also their children's lives.
